The Geographic Information Center Department has successfully obtained the recognition of the International Standards Organization (ISO) in implementing the ISO 19115 metadata standard. The ISO 19115 is the internationally recognized standard for geospatial metadata that helps users and stakeholders to find suitable geospatial data for their specific business applications. Therefore, such recognition is essential for the GISCD in order to maintain a standard metadata for all geospatial layers.
